IMAGINE IT, WRITE IT, PERFORM IT… Character Building For The Stage
In this 9-week writing workshop, students will focus on bringing imaginary people to life on stage. Using character monologues they create, students will define the traits, tell the stories, and make emotional connections with the individuals they portray. Participants will work on developing characters that are grounded, believable, and memorable. To build a rewarding theatrical experience, this class will emphasize the acting techniques and tools used by the great Sanford Meisner and other influential acting theorists of the Twentieth Century.
No prior theatrical experience is necessary to participate.
Please Note: Students are required to work outside of class… writing, editing, memorizing, and preparing their monologues for performance at the graduation show scheduled for Friday, June 12th at the Focus Theater.
SPACE IS LIMITED. REGISTRATION CLOSES ON 4/4/2025
