If Rochester's gloomy spring weather has got you down, take a trip to The Focus Theater. We have plenty of exciting shows and workshops on the calendar this month!
We kick things off with “The Wedding Show with Tommy and Kenzie” on Friday, June 6th. Join the newlyweds and their friends as they celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event with a night of improv comedy that's sure to make you swoon.
Tommy would also like Kenzie to know that he loves her very much! He's allowed to say this as he's the guy writing the events and shows column that you're currently reading.
Anyhoo, if you’re interested in performing, stop by on Saturday, June 7th. The night starts at 5:00 PM with the “Open Call.” Improvisers of all skill levels are encouraged to audition for the theater’s upcoming slate of shows!
At 7:00 PM, “The Improv Plate” returns. This is a FREE community show that anyone can be a part of.
On Thursday, June 12th, Megan Mack is back with another “Intro to Comedy Improvisation” workshop, running from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Whether you’ve never done improv before or are just looking for a one-night refresher, this is the place to be!
Then, on Saturday, June 14th, catch “JFT and Friends.” John Forrest Thompson returns with more Chicago-style improv and a fresh lineup of comedic talent.
The following weekend, on Friday, June 20th, “Conspiracy Council” is back. Headed by lead conspiracist, Zoey Jodon, this show will see 5 special guests pitch their own personal conspiracy theories, with the audience favorite being crowned as canonically true!
Finally, the month wraps up on Saturday, June 21st with “Late Night with Dan: WrestleDANia.” First murder, and now this?? Join The Focus Theater as Dan Hopman and his friends step into the ring.
Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the show starting at 7:30 PM. A special sign-making station will be available for diehard DanHeads.
